Die neue Wirtschaftsvereinigung Kunststoff (WVK) hat sich Mitte Juni 2009 in Frankfurt gegründet. Der Verband versteht sich als übergreifende Advocacy of plastic producers, plastics processors and manufacturers of plastic processing machines and would like to represent the interests of the plastics industry in the public eye even more. The TRC was established by his supporting associations Plastics Europe, Germany, the General Association of Plastics Processing Industry Association and the Plastics and Rubber Machinery Association within VDMA.
With sales in excess of about EUR 84 billion and approximately 394,000 employees in more than 3,700 companies, the plastics industry is one of the most important industries in Germany. The founding chairman of the TRC, Dr. Reinhard Proske: "The German plastics industry is the number 1 in Europe. Task of the TRC is the importance of this key industry for Germany even more highlight. We want to act as a mouthpiece for the entire value chain of plastic to politicians and the public. "
