Kunststoffspritzguss – typische Formteilfehler: Einfallstellen

Cavities, flow lines, streaks or sink marks are typical errors. How you can avoid a constructive form of conditional error, we explain here at irregular intervals.

sink marks in injection molded parts

sink marks on the molding surface are well within the range of material accumulation. Sink marks are often found in wall thickness transitions and at places with very strong walls. By shrinkage process during the cooling process occurs at high walls by freezing the edges to form part of the internal stresses and thus to a mid-bagging the outer layer. These deformations are referred to as sink marks.

improvements depending on the design of the injection molding bring the following measures:
  • The wall thickness-rib ratio is optimized.
  • mass clusters are reduced.
  • The gate cross-sections are increased in order to facilitate the pressing in of material.
  • the Angus links may be shortened or enlarged the nozzle hole.
  • The injection points are made at the large wall thicknesses.
